Your Renault or Dacia in Home Assistant

Battery level, range, plug status, charging power, even the charge limit: it all comes through Home Assistant's official integration, with your MyRenault or MyDacia account. No hardware to buy.

Brand-new guide

It was written in October 2026 from the integration's official documentation, but nobody in the Watt Budget community has followed it end to end on their car yet. Trying it? Tell me what works and what gets stuck.

Depends onRenault's cloud and your MyRenault or MyDacia account

What you need

  • Home Assistant installed and reachable from your computer.
  • A MyRenault (or MyDacia) account that shows the car: open the app and check the battery level is displayed.
  • Your account's country (for example en_GB, fr_FR), asked during setup.

1Install the integration

  1. Add the integrationSettings → Devices & services → Add integration, then search for Renault. It ships with Home Assistant: nothing to download.
  2. Pick the account's countryThe Locale must match your account: en_GB in the UK, en_IE in Ireland, fr_FR in France.
  3. Sign inEnter the email and password of the MyRenault or MyDacia app. If you have several Kamereon accounts, pick the one holding the car; otherwise it is chosen for you.
  4. Find the carThe car appears as a device under Settings → Devices & services → Renault, with its sensors, buttons and, depending on the model, charge limit settings.
Good to know

The command buttons (charging, climate) exist for every car but do not work on every model: try them once before putting them in an automation.

2The data you get

DataWhat it's for
BatteryLevel in %, the value to give Watt Budget
Battery autonomyRange estimated by the car
Plugged in / ChargingTwo on/off sensors, handy to trigger an automation when you get home
Charging powerIn kW, while charging
Charging remaining timeIn minutes
MileageTo track your kilometres per month
LocationA tracker to know if the car is home
Minimum / target charge levelOn compatible models: set the charge limit from Home Assistant (15–45 % and 55–100 %)
Rename the entities right away

Replace the long names with short ones, for example sensor.renault_battery (Settings → Devices & services → Entities → the entity → cog). Your cards, automations and Watt Budget settings will be much easier to read.

3Connect Watt Budget

The sensor to enter in Watt Budget, under Settings › Home Assistant: the Battery sensor of the Renault device (in %).

Once connected, Watt Budget reads the level every minute: no more typing the starting percentage, and the charge is worked out from the real battery level.

The four steps (HTTPS access, token, sensors, check) are explained on the guides home page and in the Watt Budget guide.

4Precautions

  • Renault's servers are not always up to the minute: the value can lag a few minutes behind the dashboard.
  • Before controlling charging from Home Assistant, check that your charger or the car's own schedule won't get in the way.
  • Don't shorten the update interval: each query can wake the car and drain its 12 V battery. The defaults are a good balance.
  • Your credentials stay in your Home Assistant; neither Watt Budget nor I can see them.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Dacia Spring supported?

Yes, with the MyDacia account: the integration uses the same servers as Renault. Remote commands depend on the connected services enabled on the car.

The values haven't moved for hours. What now?

Check the MyRenault app first: if it is frozen too, the problem is on Renault's side. Otherwise reload the integration from Settings → Devices & services → Renault → ⋮ → Reload.

Does Watt Budget get access to my car?

No. Watt Budget only reads the battery level sensor in your Home Assistant, from your browser, with the token you give it. It never sees your manufacturer login or the car's location.

My model isn't listed. Can it work?

Often yes: these integrations go through the manufacturer's app, shared across the range. The easiest is to try, then tell me how it went via the contact page.
